What this app does
Ruby News is a local, non-commercial script that runs on the operator’s personal computer. It uploads already-finished videos (created outside the app) to the operator’s own TikTok account. It does not provide services to the public.
Personal data we collect
We do not collect or store personal data from end users or viewers. The app has no signup, analytics, or tracking. It does not process comments, follower data, or viewer information.
Data from TikTok APIs
The app uses TikTok’s official API solely to authenticate and upload videos to the operator’s account.
- Access token: an OAuth token issued by TikTok to the operator’s account is stored locally on the operator’s device for the purpose of posting videos. It is not shared with third parties.
- Scopes used:
video.uploadand, if enabled,video.publish. - No reading of user data: the tool does not read follower lists, comments, messages, or analytics.
Cookies & tracking
This app is not a website or SaaS and does not set cookies or use web trackers. If you visit any linked pages (e.g., TikTok), their own policies apply.
Third‑party services
Uploads are made via TikTok for Developers. TikTok acts as an independent data controller for content hosted on its platform. Please review TikTok’s own privacy policy for how TikTok processes viewer data.
Data retention
The app retains only the local OAuth token and minimal configuration needed to post videos. Tokens are kept until revoked or removed by the operator. No other personal data is stored.
Security
The app runs locally and never transmits tokens to third parties. The operator should secure their device, avoid sharing access, and rotate tokens if compromise is suspected.
Children’s privacy
Ruby News is a creator tool and not directed to children. Content posted to TikTok follows TikTok’s age restrictions and policies.
Your rights
As no personal data from end users is collected by this app, data subject requests typically do not apply. For rights related to data processed by TikTok (e.g., viewing on-platform), please contact TikTok directly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect technical, legal, or operational changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
